Blowing Up Balloons

Deep breathing is so good for you! That's one reason I love blowing up balloons. Inflating a balloon with your lungs engages deep breathing, which sends more oxygen to your brain and calms your nervous system.

When I had COVID and my lungs felt tight, I put a pulse oximeter on my finger and saw my blood oxygen was at 91%. I tried blowing up a balloon and watched it go from 91% to 97%!

But blowing up balloons doesn't just increase your oxygen levels—it increases your fun levels! Blow it up, then let it zip around the room!

This is a great way to engage children, teens, roommates, or anyone who could use a little lift, and a little fun! It shifts the energy in the room, lessens anxiety, and brings out the giggles!
